The IC693BEM331G is a bus controller module in the Sires 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. Manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, this module is primarily used to connect series 90-30 PLCS to the proprietary Genius I/O bus.
It has the ability to communicate with Genius blocks, such as discrete, analog, and special-purpose field devices. The bus controller module also supports communication between the 90-70 series I/O racks connected via the remote I/O scanner module and the field control of I/O stations via the bus interface unit. These communication capabilities enable it to support up to eight additional field control modules, Genius handheld monitors, and a variety of hosts.
The IC693BEM331G is equipped with a variety of state leds, including OK leds and COM leds. The OK LED will be steady on in normal operation, and the COM LED will also be steady on when the bus controller is in active communication, and blinking indicates that there may be an intermittent or error in the bus connection.
This bus controller is capable of processing up to 128 bytes of input and output data from field devices on the bus.
